Naked Lunch

Südbahnhotel, 2026

Naked Lunch are among the essential Austrian bands of the past decades. 35 years after their formation – after soaring highs and crushing lows, after commercial flops and artistic milestones, and after a really long hiatus – the band led by songwriter Oliver Welter returns to the stage with the wonderful album “Lights and A Slight Taste of Death”. And what a return it is! World-weariness, hope and creative energy merge into an intense performance in the Grand Dining Hall of the venerable Südbahnhotel at Semmering, in the foothills of the Austrian Alps. In the epic new song “We Could Be Beautiful”, Welter sings about how the world could be a better place. “God”, a hymn for all the exhausted from 2003 and a band classic (which inspired producer and guitarist Wolfgang Lehmann to make music) shows the band at a new peak of their artistic powers.
