Sweet Sweet Moon

Salinas Grandes, 2014

In the no-man’s-land of Salinas Grandes, the large salt desert in central-northern Argentina, we stop at a car cemetery. In this solitary setting Matthias and Lukas of Sweet Sweet Moon start to explore the ground and give way to some destructive impulses before striking a sentimental chord with their string instruments. After some big shows in buzzling cities Sweet Sweet Moon now take a deep breath and perform “We Can Go Anywhere”. The elating song very much sums up the spirit of the whole journey that brought the young lads from Vienna as far as the Argentinian middle of nowhere.

Salinas Grandes

By driving through the country, we experience the vastness of Argentina with its manifold landscapes. In central-northern Argentina we come by the large salt desert Salinas Grandes that spans the borders of four provinces (Córdoba, Catamarca, La Rioja and Santiago del Estero). This no-man’s-land covers an area of 6,000 km2 and is a flat beauty of its own.
